The Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival is not only the biggest annual event in Downtown Rapid City but a beloved tradition that embodies the heart and soul of the fall season. From Main Street Square to Memorial Park, this festival is a sprawling celebration that has something for everyone.
From 10am to 4pm, The Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival brings to life a variety of festive fall fun. Shop from a large selection of local vendors, taste your way through the creations of local food trucks, and participate in all the pumpkin themed fun. This event is free, family-friendly, and the greatest way to kick-off the fall season in Rapid City.
Schedule of Events:
- 10:00 AM – Vendors, Kid Zone, and Pumpkin Weigh-Off begin
- 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM – Voting for Best Painted or Carved Pumpkin from the Pumpkin Carving Contest (Main Street Square)
- 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM – Touch-a-Truck (City Hall)
- 10:15 AM – Drumline and mascots lead procession from Main Street Square to Memorial Park
- 11:00 AM – First Round of Pumpkin Chunkin’ (Trebuchets at Memorial Park)
- 12:00 PM – Winners Announced for Pumpkin Weigh-Off (City Hall)
- 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM – Wilt Brothers Band (Main Street Square)
- 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM – Pub Crawl
- 1:00 PM – Second Round of Pumpkin Chunkin’ (Trebuchets at Memorial Park)
- 3:00 PM – Third Round of Pumpkin Chunkin’ (Trebuchets at Memorial Park)
- 4:00 PM – Event Concludes
