While the Peter Norbeck National Scenic Byway could technically be driven in a few hours, you'd be robbing yourself of a wild experience if you rushed your journey. It's worth setting aside a full day to truly enjoy the sights and beasts that call this route home. How long is Custer State Park's Wildlife Loop?
The 18-mile journey that is the Wildlife Loop begins at the eastern gateway near Custer State Park Visitor Center and wraps around towards the Blue Bell entry on the wild western side of the Park. Can I fly to Rapid and rent a bike for the Sturgis Rally?
Yes! If you're biking or hauling your bike from a long distance, consider flying into the Rapid City Regional Airport and renting a bike for the rally. Rentals are available right at the airport or at other locations throughout the hills. The Rapid City Regional Airport also adds two direct flights to accommodate event attendees. Direct flights will take place Aug 1, 2, 11 & 12 from Houston and Aug 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 11 & 12 from San Francisco.
