As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, there is so much to see, do and experience in Rapid City and western South Dakota. And while there are many things that stay the same around here, this community continues to evolve and grow in the best ways possible. Uplifted Winery

Sip on handcrafted made-right-here wines in the heart of downtown. Housed in a historic 1918 building, Uplifted Winery offers wine tastings and a variety of events throughout the year. Be sure to check their calendar for trivia nights, food and wine pairing dinners and more.

Gluten-free and dairy-free customers will feel right at home at Nanna’s Cafe. Everything here is freshly made in small batches, from breads to pastries and pizza to sandwiches and salads.

Located inside Pure Coffee Hub in downtown Rapid City, Saladz offerings are all gluten-free and plant-based. You can grab food to go before setting out on an adventure in the Black Hills or dine in and enjoy their fresh-made offerings.

A new DIY adventure, this is the place to make your own candle. Choose the shape, create your own fragrance and even design your own label. Plus, creating a custom candle is a fun way to remember your vacation or trip to Rapid City.

The place for rolled ice cream, Wonders is a fun stop for any Rapid City visit. Each ice cream order is fresh and made just for you, with custom toppings and combinations to create your dream treat.

 

Wild Sage

Located on Rapid City’s southside, Wild Sage is the city’s newest restaurant. Their menu includes tried and true favorites, as well as new spins on regional favorites. A few to note: walleye cakes, elk stuffed mushrooms and elk bolognese.

 

Bokujo Bodega

 

Bokujo Bodega

 

Located next door to Bokujo Ramen, the bodega is the place to grab Japanese culinary staples, from snacks to sauces and drinks to rice and seasonings. Be sure to swing in before or after dining on ramen at Bokujo.

 

 

AL’s Cafe & Catering

A cozy downtown cafe, AL’s Cafe & Catering is inside Turnac Tower, making it an easy place to grab a bite with a daily menu that rotates and offers soups, salads, snacks, coffees and other drinks. They also offer catering and box lunches for groups and events.

 

 

Firehouse Pizzeria

This made-from-scratch pizzeria opened in late 2025, with a focus on quality and handmade ingredients. They serve up traditional pizzas and specialty pies like BBQ (Pork You), chicken/bacon/ranch (Midwest Mom) and mushroom (Shroom with a View), as well as dessert pizzas.

 

New Lodging Offerings

 

Hyatt and Clubhouse

 

The Hyatt Place opened in spring 2025 and is located in the heart of downtown Rapid City. Their sleeping rooms have beautiful views of Rapid and the Black Hills, while the hotel also has a lively bar in the lobby. Clubhouse Hotel & Suites opened in April 2025 and is located in Rapid’s south end, with a diverse offering of accommodations that include suites, balcony rooms, and more.
