Visit Rapid City Motorcycle Sweepstakes Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

YOU MUST PAY ALL APPLICABLE TITLE, REGISTRATION, LICENSE, DEALER, AND INSURANCE FEES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE OR USE THIS ITEM.

1. Eligibility

  • Open to legal residents of the United States (including Washington, DC).  Residents of FL, RI, NY, MI, and OH are strictly excluded from participation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Employees of Visit Rapid City, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and immediate family members are not eligible to win.
  • Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

2. Sponsor

  • The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Visit Rapid City (VRC), located at 512 Main St., Suite 240 - Floor 2, Rapid City, SD 57701; phone number is (605) 718-8484.

3. Agreement to Rules

  • Participation constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules.
  • Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes.

4. Sweepstakes Period

  • Entries will be accepted starting on August 7, 2026, at 7:00 am MDT and ending on August 16, 2026, at 5:00 pm MDT.
  • In-person entries must be received during regular business hours at participating downtown businesses within this timeframe.
  • Mail in entries must be postmarked by August 16, 2026.

5. How to Enter

  • In-Person Entry:  To enter, go to the Rapid City Visitor Center located at 613 Main Street, Rapid City, SD 57701 or any of the following participating Rapid City, SD downtown business locations during their regular operational hours:

  • Fully complete the official physical entry form provided and deposit it into the designated entry box.
  • No purchase or payment is necessary to enter.
  • Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE): To enter without making a purchase or visiting a physical location, legibly handprint your full name, complete mailing address, email address, and daytime phone number on a 3" x 5" card.  Mail it in a standard, business-sized envelope with sufficient postage to: Rapid City Visitor Center,  613 Main Street, Rapid City, SD 57701.  Mail-in entries must be postmarked by August 16, 2026, and received by August 20, 2026.  Unlimited entries, however, limit one (1) mail-in entry per postmarked envelope.  Mechanical reproductions, photocopies, or automated entries are void.
  • Entry Limit: Unlimited entries per person during the Sweepstakes Period, regardless of the method of entry.  

6. Prize and Odds of Winning

  • Prize: One (1) 2025 Harley-Davidson Softail FXBB Street Bob Motorcycle.
  • Verifiable Retail Value ("VRV"): $18,899.
  • The prize is non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent is permitted, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion.
  • Odds: The odds of winning depend on the total number of all eligible entries received (both in-person and via mail-in entry).

7. Winner Selection and Notification

  • The winner will be selected in a random drawing on August 21, 2026, at the Rapid City Visitor Center located at 613 Main Street, Rapid City, SD 57701.
  • Winner need not be present to win.
  • The potential winner will be notified via the phone number or email address provided on the entry form on August 21, 2026.
  • If the winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim the prize by September 4, 2026, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected via a random drawing from remaining eligible entries.

8. Picking up Prize

  • Winner is responsible for picking up the prize in person at the Rapid City Visitor Center located at 613 Main Street, Rapid City, SD 57701. If the winner requests the motorcycle to be shipped, VRC will arrange for and pay for standard shipping/delivery costs, insurance, fees, and logistics. If driving the motorcycle off of VRC premises, the winner must have a motorcycle endorsement.

9. Taxes and Registration Fees

  • The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, including personal income taxes. Sponsor will collect a IRS W-9 Form from the winner, and issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC to the winner for the VRV of $18,899.
  • The winner is entirely responsible for a motorcycle endorsement, and all title, registration, licensing, dealer documentation fees, and liability insurance costs required to legally take possession of and operate the vehicle.

10. Publicity Release

  • Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes the winner’s consent to Sponsor’s use of their name, likeness, photograph, and hometown for promotional and marketing purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.

11. General Conditions

  • Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, tampering, or technical/physical issues compromise the administration or integrity of the promotion. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entry forms.

12. Limitation of Liability

  • By entering, participants release and hold harmless Visit Rapid City, its officers, directors, and employees from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, or property damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, from participation in the sweepstakes or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.

13. Disputes

  • This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota.
  • Any legal action arising out of this Sweepstakes must be filed exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennington County, South Dakota.

14. Winner's List

  • To obtain the name of the winner, call the Rapid City Visitor Center at 605-718-8484 or request it via email at admin@visitrapidcity.com, Attn: Winner's List Request, by September 30, 2026.
