A Sweet Start at The Sour

Every great day starts with a treat, and The Sour delivers on charm, comfort and accessibility. This welcoming spot in downtown Rapid City serves up fresh baked goods, great coffee and a relaxed atmosphere. With step-free entry, accessible restrooms and plenty of space to navigate, it’s a cozy and inclusive way to fuel up for adventure.
Lunch to Go from Aqua and Acre Market

Next, we picked up lunch from Aqua and Acre Market, an eclectic storefront with locally sourced food options that focus on fresh, seasonal flavors. Their to-go options make it easy to pack up a healthy, delicious meal and head out to your next stop. With a step-free entry, wide isles and gluten-free options, this is a great spot for everyone.
Off-Roading, Barrier-Free

The highlight of our day was hitting the trails in an all-terrain track chair, available to rent through South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks. This adaptive equipment makes it possible for everyone to experience the thrill of off-roading in the Black Hills. Think winding forest paths, big sky views and the freedom to roam where traditional mobility aids might not go. It’s a game changer for outdoor lovers!
Peaceful Moments at Chapel in the Hills

Tucked into a quiet corner of Rapid City, the Chapel in the Hills is a hidden gem with serene beauty and rich history. Modeled after a Norwegian stave church, the space invites visitors to slow down and take in the peaceful surroundings. Accessible paths and thoughtful design make this a lovely stop for reflection and exploration alike.
Bonus: This location is a stop on the 2-hour City View Trolley Tour!
Winding Down at BB’s Natural

To end the day, we headed to BB’s Natural for a unique and delicious treat with a casual vibe. This locally loved spot offers a welcoming environment and a variety of allergy-friendly and plant-based goodies. With a variety of seating options and a spacious accessible bathroom, it’s the perfect low-key stop for anyone to reflect on a day well spent.
