About Us

Established in 2023 to meet the rise of sports tourism head-on, the Rapid City Sports Commission is putting Rapid City and the Black Hills on the competitive map. We bring in high-level tournaments, support our homegrown events, and champion a sports community that’s growing stronger every season. In just a short run, we’ve hosted national competitions, backed iconic regional matchups, and expanded the reach of sports in our city. And we’re just getting warmed up — Rapid City is here for the hustle.

Grows Rapid City’s sports culture and boosts its economic impact. When he’s not working, he’s on the sidelines — watching his kids' games, coaching, or officiating sports in the community.

Dave Dolan Sports Development Specialist

Supports the Rapid City Sports Commission’s efforts to grow local sports. A retired coach, official, and educator who still loves teaching life lessons through the game.
