As the holiday season draws near, there's no better way to embrace the festivities than attending Winter Market in Rapid City's Main Street Square. Taking place on November 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., this event is set against a backdrop of twinkling lights and a charming outdoor ice rink. Winter Market is more than just an event; it's a cherished tradition that's taken place since the opening of Main Street Square. Come experience the region’s only maintained outdoor ice rink with real ice, where skating beneath the magnificent Christmas Tree makes you feel like you're the main character of a classic holiday movie.
Watch figure skating performances and listen to live music as you browse surrounding vendor booths stocked with locally made treasures to find meaningful and well made gifts for yourself or your loved ones. Take a seat by the fire at the Warm Up Station presented by Black Hills Federal Credit Union. At 4:50, join the community as Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun makes a special address and illuminates the star of The Square for the holiday season, the Christmas Tree.
The celebration continues by coinciding with the Festival of Lights Parade. As the lights dim along the downtown corridor, locally made floats make their way through the streets lighting up the night with holiday cheer. The parade marches down Main Street and back up Saint Joseph Street.
