Skating beneath the Holiday Tree has become a cherished winter tradition in Rapid City, bringing joy to all ages. Whether you're a seasoned skater or just starting out, our rink is a welcoming spot for everyone to enjoy the magic of the season.

Skating Cost

Day Pass

Rink Day Pass: $10
Ice Skate Rentals: $5 *skaters can bring their own skates
Helmets & Walkers: FREE (as supplies last)
*$1 off for military, first responders, seniors, and students

Skating Waiver

All skaters must sign a waiver before hitting the ice. Save time during ticket purchase by signing the waiver here.

Know Before You Go

  • Skate smart and have fun—just remember you’re skating at your own risk! Main Street Square is not liable for accidents, both on and off the ice.
  • Only ice skates on the ice, please—street shoes need to stay on the sidelines.
  • Kids under 12 need a skating buddy—an adult must be with them at all times.
  • Keep it cool—no roughhousing, speeding, or fancy tricks. Let’s keep everyone safe!
  • Snacks and drinks are for off the ice only.
  • During resurfacing, the ice takes a break too—please stay off.
  • Little ones stay safe—no carrying kids while skating.
  • Phones and cameras can enjoy the view from outside the rink.
  • Ice Walkers are for beginners, so use them wisely.
  • Stick to the rubber mats when walking in skates.
  • Listen to our rink staff—they’re here to help!
