I grew up in Rapid City and love it here! I enjoy everything our beautiful city has to offer and love showing it off.
First debut in the tourism industry
In 2004 I joined the team at Black Hills Harley Davidson as a retail manager. This was my first foot in the door of the tourism industry as I watched thousands and thousands of motorcyclist enthusiasts visit from all over the world. In September 2010, I joined the Meetings & Conventions team at Visit Rapid City and in June 2014 I joined Julie in Tourism Sales and in September 2017 I was promoted to Director of Tourism Sales.
Favorite type of tour to plan
I love being able to help groups plan any type of tour they are interested in offering. I want to make sure these groups see the authentic Rapid City experience - everything from Mount Rushmore to Art Alley.
Favorite Rapid City attraction
My favorite group attraction would have to be City of Presidents, Art Alley and The Outdoor Campus West.
Personal recommendation on a restaurant great for group tours
Colonial House Restaurant & Bar, a staple in Rapid City! This from-scratch restaurant has been family owned and operated for 35 years!
Enjoyable Group itinerary
If you have not experienced the Buffalo Roundup I would highly suggest this event. It's included in the Round 'Em Up & Head 'Em Out itinerary I attended the 50th Anniversary Buffalo Roundup and it was amazing!
Best thing about Rapid City
My favorite thing is how beautiful and friendly our city is.
Personal tips and tricks for the ultimate Rapid City and Black Hills tour
Make sure you plan enough time at each attraction you visit. If you are unsure how long you stay at certain attractions, please feel free to reach out to our office.
Three items for your Rapid City and Black Hills & Badlands bucket-list
(1) Bike the entire Mickelson Trail, (2) attend a Broadway play at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, (3) take a helicopter tour around Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial.
The best comment received from a group about the area and/or quality of service provided
One comment I hear all the time is, I never knew there was so much to see and do in Rapid City. The service your office provides is amazing and they appreciate how we go above and beyond.
