Free family fun can be found at one of the Black Hills’ original tourist attractions, open to the public since 1936! Dinosaur Park is located on a ridge of sandstone that encircles the Black Hills. The dinosaurs featured have all be discovered in the Midwest, and not far from the park dinosaur footprints have been found. Walk the park to find all seven life-size concrete replicas of monstrous prehistoric reptiles. At the top with the Brontosaurus you can experience spectacular 100-mile views, to the east you'll view the South Dakota Badlands and to the west the beautiful Black Hills.
Dinosaur Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a trailhead for hiking and biking on the Skyline Wilderness Trail. The Visitor Center features a wide variety of gifts, books, fossils, and rocks. Food service includes 12 flavors of ice cream and light lunch items.
