- On top of being nickna,es “Young Hickory” he was also nicknamed “Napoleon of the Stump” due to his small stature
- He achieved all four of his major goals in office: cut tariffs, reestablish an independent U.S. Treasury, secure the Oregon Territory and acquire California and New Mexico
