First sculptures revealed at Main Street Square


RAPID CITY, SD - Two stone sculptures at Main Street Square are complete and will be revealed today. Anna Huntington, Destination Rapid City Community Arts Coordinator, will be available for questions beginning at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Main STreet Square, at Sixth and Main Streets in Downtown Rapid City.

Visitors will be able to see the stones up close and touch them for the first time after the safety barrier around artist Masayuki Nagase's work site is removed. A new barrier has been erected around the next set of stones to be carved.

The artist will discuss his progress with the public during an informal talk at Main Street Square on Fri., Aug. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
