That’s likely the response you’ll get if you ask Amanda Hitchcock for her name. We still don’t know if she’s actually related to the horror-film legend, but if she inherited anything from her namesake, it’d be a fierce determination— and a knack for storytelling.

Though Amanda jokingly explains that she was “born with her bags packed,” an on-the-move childhood made home a difficult thing for her to define. Today, that childhood has transformed into an inspired wanderlust and a desire to share her travels through storytelling. With a love of exploration and new adventures, the journey of connecting with others and traveling the world through her writing is just the same as hearing the words, “Welcome home.”
