Testimonials on Rapid City Meetings
Rapid City is host to hundreds of successful meetings, conventions, retreats and reunions every year. The staff members at Visit Rapid City are always happy to help professional and volunteer planners bring their meetings to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We are often rewarded by the wonderful comments of the meeting planners and their delegates. If you are considering Rapid City for an upcoming meeting, just read the following comments from some planners who did choose Rapid City.

"Please convey to your co-workers that I truly appreciated collaborating especially with Lisa at the outset and with you as the planning for our 2017 Annual Tekakwitha Conference began to unfold.
Our conference attendees truly enjoyed Rapid City and all that South Dakota had to offer such as hospitality, exploring God's natural beauty in creation. The travel to Crazy Horse Monument left many people in 'awe' especially oSrur Desert People."

"First, we were so impressed with Rapid City and we are extremely happy with selecting this city for our 2018 reunion. Secondly, Donna, I, Linda and Spenser want to thank you so much for your hospitality. The Visit Rapid City staff and all those we came in contact with during our visit exceeded our expectations.
It was unanimous by our team to select the Grand Gateway Hotel for our 2018 Reunion. Overall they provided the best package which we believe fits our association’s needs. However, we want you to know that all five of the hotels met our needs and would have been acceptable to the team. This is very unusual since we have always found one or two hotels to fall short and not be able to meet our requirements."
South Dakota High School Activities Association All State Chorus and Orchestra
“I feel that Visit Rapid City did a wonderful job assisting the SDHSAA with the 2015 All-State Chorus and Orchestra event. We appreciate Visit Rapid City's assistance with producing name tags and your willingness to make extras on site for the few students who were last minute substitutions and needed name tags.
Our stay in Rapid City was wonderful. We were very pleased with our accommodations at the Holiday Inn and our guest conductors enjoyed downtown Rapid City and were very impressed with the food and service at the Firehouse.
Thanks again for all of your help with our event."

“Everything went very well, including the meetings, a field trip, Crazy Horse, and Mount Rushmore. I found everybody we worked with to be friendly, helpful, and dependable, including when we had a couple ‘bumps in the road’.
Everyone really enjoyed Rapid City and the Black Hills; most of them had never been here before, and several said how pleasantly surprised they were. Of course, everything being so green from all the rain didn’t hurt anything.
The Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn was a great location for our meeting, especially with Main Street Square, the bike path, and the selection of good restaurants downtown. Pam and I wound up staying 3 nights at the hotel, and concluded that Rapid City is a really nice place to ‘visit’.
I really appreciate your help with all of the travel and things to do info, and also with the name tags.
One interesting observation is that a couple of our attendees flew in and out of Billings, rented cars, and made a big trip that included Devils Tower, Yellowstone, Beartooth Highway, Little Bighorn Battlefield, and North Dakota (ND was one guy’s ‘50th’ state).
Thanks again for all your help.”
National Association of Food Distribution Programs and The Mountain Plains Food Distribution Programs
"In July 2008, the Council of State Governments/Midwestern Legislative Conference held its 63rd Annual Meeting in Rapid City, South Dakota. In attendance were 550 delegates, with a total attendance of 870 from across the Midwest and Canada.
Visit Rapid City was invaluable to our convention team. Not only did they provide attendance building in Traverse City, Michigan, the year prior to our convention, they continued to be instrumental in locating a meeting facility, hosting hotel and overflow properties for attendees, assisting with registration, welcome packets, and program and entertainment once Rapid City was the chosen site.
We received numerous positive comments from attendees regarding site location and overall coordination of the event. Many thanks to a terrific group from Visit Rapid City and to the volunteers of the Rapid City area for a well-coordinated and successful event."
Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference
"Over the last several years I have had the pleasure of working with Visit Rapid City on our annual conference. My first opportunity was in 1996 and then again recently when the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference came back to Rapid City. Visit Rapid City is an outstanding group of people to work with. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The staff was available at every turn, at first helping secure space at the five hotels we needed in order to accommodate our crowd. And, down the stretch in helping us find equipment to rent when we were running into difficulty. They are wonderful representatives of your community as well. I’ve been a meeting planner for over 18 years and have never worked with a more accommodating and helpful bureau. Thank you so much for all your support."

Mid-America Credit Union Association
"I was a first time meeting planner and had great concern about hosting an event a few hundred miles away. Visit Rapid City calmed all fears and made our event “their” event. They paid such close attention to even the smallest details to make our event a success.
Visit Rapid City knows the right people to assist you for any occasion. They helped us find entertainment, reception services, a family outing, and a place to host our golf tournament. They are the great faces to all the great places you need to see! Visit Rapid City treated the Mid–America Credit Union Association like family. They not only welcomed us to Rapid City, they embraced us.
Visit Rapid City goes above and beyond the call of duty providing their knowledge, dedication, skill, and sincerity into all they do. Book your next event with Visit Rapid City in Rapid City, South Dakota, and get the presidential treatment you deserve!"
