Visit Rapid City strives to provide excellent customer service to consumers or potential visitors seeking information on our area; whether its about Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Black Hills parks, monuments, and memorialsoutdoor adventure, accommodations, area attractions or finding the Top 10 Things To Do in Rapid City and the Black Hills.

Potential visitors can request a copy of our Rapid City Visitors Guide via our online website, toll-free number, email or snail mail requests. Additionally, tourism and hospitality members provide brochures to be displayed in our Visitor Information Center located at our office in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Here, Visitor Information Specialists, provide local expert assistance directly to walk-ins or call-ins to make their vacation planning easy and flawless. Visit Rapid City also utilizes proven sales and marketing strategies at a variety of consumer shows.

A partnership in the Black Hills Travel Agent program also increases awareness about our destination amongst travel agents in North America and helps assist in selling our destination through their efforts.

Visit Rapid City's goal is to work with local, state, regional and national associations, encouraging them to bring conventions and meetings to Rapid City. To ensure this, we are a full-service bureau offering support with property consultation, attendance promotion, program planning, registration assistance, publicity, name badges and visitor guides at no charge.

Some important to note highlights, when promoting Rapid City as a host city:

The Goal of the Sports & Events niche of Visit Rapid City's is to work with local, state, regional and national associations to encourage them to bring sporting events and competitions to Rapid City. To ensure this, the VRC works with local organizations to market their events outside of Rapid City through various marketing efforts with the help of the Rapid City Sports Council.

The Sports Council offers a marketing grant to those who qualify to help bring events to Rapid City and/or grow existing events.

A variety of shows are attended such as NASC and TEAMS in an effort to meet and mingle with event coordinators from all across the United States informing them that Rapid City is an ideal location for their events.

The goal of the Marketing Department of Visit Rapid City (VRC) is to market Rapid City to the rest of the world on a state, regional, national and international level as a vacation, convention, sports and event destination. We utilize various online and traditional media forms of advertising and public relations to promote Rapid City.

The VRC also provides marketing opportunities to Rapid City Chamber members as well as Business Improvement District (BID) hotels to help promote their business or organization. This gives them a way to be more visible which allows them to make a bigger impact and reach more potential visitors.
