Little Music, Little Wine, And A Little Gal Time
There are very few things in my life that can’t be fixed after a night of a little music, a little wine and a little gal time. And I know I’m not the only one – I’m looking at you. It’s time to sit back, relax and have a good time with your friends or family. One of the best ways to do it while in Rapid City is with a night out at Firehouse Wine Cellars.
On Friday and Saturday nights, Rapid City’s only local winery, Firehouse Wine Cellars host’s what they call Cellar Sessions. During these events artists fill the relaxed atmosphere of the wine cellar with their music which ranges from soothing piano to acoustic melodies. All performers are extremely talented, but my favorite is an acoustic guitar singer who plays a stunning version of “La Vie En Rose”. I get the chills every time I hear her play it.
Now that you’re being sweetly serenaded, it’s time for a little wine. Firehouse Wine Cellars offers a great selection of locally crafted red and white wines. Choose from an assortment of sweet or dry wines, or if it’s your first time visiting then I would highly suggest a wine tasting. You can sample six different options for only five dollars and the knowledgeable staff will help you make selections based on your taste preference. This is also a great option if you’re indecisive like myself. However - with names like Badlands, Prairie Flower, Stargazer and Rushmore Riesling it’s hard not to want to try them all. As a lover of reds, my go-to is Book Club.

So, you’re indulging on beautiful melodies and great wine. Now to complete the whole experience, your gals. We all know laughter runs wild when you’re with your favorite people. It’s a great time and a great ab workout. That’s a win-win. But don’t just mingle with those you came with. Locals and visitors alike fill the tables of the winery, so if you’re just starting your vacation it’s a great place to ask others about things to do and places to go. Local’s love to share their favorite stops with visitors!
Firehouse Wine Cellars has a convenient location in the heart of Downtown Rapid City. It’s a block away from the lively Main Street Square and only two doors down from the Firehouse Brewing Co. restaurant, meaning it’s a short walk when you want good food. Don’t forget to check out all the great merchandise at the Firehouse Mercantile, which is connected to the winery!

Ready to start planning for your next weekend trip? Or maybe you just want an adult escape on a family vacation? Then you can’t beat a night out at Firehouse Wine Cellars. I’m not an expert – but I heard wine is good for you. So, treat yourself to some while you’re in town, you’ve earned it!
