Testimonial

“The sports marketing grant has a very big impact on the King of the Hill Softball Tournament. It has helped grow the event from approximately 432 participants in 2004 to 1,380 in 2010. This year, we will use the grant funds to place ads in the programs of two large regional tournaments and to place banner ads on websites.”

“We have grown to 115 teams in the tournament. When we started in 2004 we had 36 teams.”

“The Rapid City Sports Council grant is very important in helping us reach people outside our state. We have participants that come from Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska and more. Last year we even had a team from Utah participate.”

“I am a member of the Rapid City Sports Council and it is so important to help people understand how important these marketing dollars are to events.”

Mike Miles, King of the Hills Softball Tournament

Sports Awards

Each year the Rapid City Sports Council in cooperation with the Rapid City Convention & Visitors Bureau acknowledges individuals who contribute to and support Rapid City area sports outside of the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA). The purpose of the awards is to recognize exceptional individuals that may not get recognized for their hard work and dedication otherwise.
