Rapid City hotel tax revenue jumps 7.3 percent in 2010

The city of Rapid City collected $1.27 million in hotel bed taxes in 2010, which is a 7.3 percent increase over 2009 and another indicator of the strong tourism year, according to local officials. The $2 occupational tax, which was created in 2006, is assessed per room per night at every Rapid City hotel with more than 50 rooms.
